A piece of art can leave a lasting impression on you, if it gets you at the right age.
It can create an everlasting world inside your head mind that you can return to any time you desire it’s solitude. It can even inform your attitudes and taste in other media.

For me, one of these formative works of art was Twin Peaks.
I practically grew up in the Lake District so it’s rustic world of greens, browns and small towns struck a cord with me.
I’ve also always loved Autumn and Winter, so it’s frosty nights and cosy neon havens from the frigid darkness also resonated.

The mystery, demons, spirits and conspiratorial chats about the owls that are not what they seen….all of that was just the icing on the cake for me.
On occasion when I am out for a run or walk in the countryside, I see a scene that reminds me of Twin Peaks and immediately I’m transported to the Pacific North West.

Included in this post are pictures of just some moments exactly like that.
