Holidaying at home

We all want for things that we don’t have, material things, career moves….you may not be happy in your job, course or some other obligation that you have to fulfill through the week.

The Vaccines at Whitehaven Alive this past weekend

It might be making you feel very downcast.

What you must do is fill your time off to the brim with the things that make you happy.

Get some exercise, it doesn’t have to be anything intense if that isn’t you, get out walking on the fells if running and weightlifting isn’t for you.

Bubble tea at Deja Brew in Egremont

Try out that Italian restaurant in the next town over that you’ve often passed and wondered what it’s like.

Have a beer in the garden or go to the mini music festival that’s happening 20 minutes from your house.

Walk out to the coast and look at the sea, just stop for a minute, take your Air Pods out and listen as the waves wash against the shore.

Pizza by the sea from Portobello Woodfired’s horsebox at Maryport Golf Club

Be cheeky, take a chance. Switch off that inner voice, even just for five minutes.

All of these things will make your weekend feel like holidaying at home.

Attached are just a few of my pictures from some of these moments.
